Transportation

Current Actions:

  • Five percent biodiesel used in buses, six fleet vehicles and all diesel-powered equipment on campus

  • One natural gas-powered bus filled by College-owned compressed natural gas filling station

  • One rechargeable golf cart-type vehicle runs on rechargeable batteries instead of gasoline

  • Three┬áhybrid gasoline/electric vehicles are used by Department of Public Safety

  • Car sharing program on campus

  • Shuttle bus service among Bryn Mawr, Haverford, and Swarthmore Colleges reducing the use of individual student cars

  • Close proximity to Public Transportation

  • Monthly passes may be purchased through the College on a pre-tax basis

  • Students are discouraged from keeping cars on campus, and residential student parking is restricted and regulated

  • The College is in the process of implementing a bike share program in order to reduce the number of bus trips between Bryn Mawr and Haverford Colleges
