History of Green Groups in the Bi-Co

As part of her Senior thesis last year, Alisha Park ’13 sifted through the records to construct a history of students run green groups in the Bi-Co. By pouring over old newspaper articles and students government budgets she was able to construct a story about how environmentalism pick up, worked together and split apart at Bryn Mawr and Haverford.

Since starting primarily with recycling efforts, green groups have evolved and expanded to include environmental justice groups, recycling focused groups, food justice groups, and communal living opportunities.
